For me as someone who suffers from an anxiety disorder (and depression at the moment too)online I'm more outspoken and friendly and actually more... Myself. Which makes me wonder who I am irl!

I'd say the same, except that the threads I enjoy participating in are also the type of topics I'd probably tend to avoid IRL.

Y'know, never discuss religion and politics with friends...

I have to point out that as a rubber ducky you don't have any online either.

Do I sense an impending identity crisis???

They're imprinted on the vinyl. So if I think they're feathers, then they're feathers. You do have fur, right?

I see. I have offended you. Please accept my appologies. My shades make it difficult to accurately observe the texture of the rubber on the photo of your profile.

My online persona does have fur. I already made it clear upthread that I do not have this much hair IRL (fur bristling at the thought.)

What about the glasses? Don't tell me you really go bear-faced!

THAT is classified information.

(I assure you I am not involved in any shady business, though.)

I think people tend to come across differently online and IRL just because of the medium.

Like, if we were all sitting in a circle and talking, probably 5-6 people would be doing almost all the talking and the rest of us would just sit quietly. Just because that's how it tends to go with big groups (IME).

I "talk" in online discussions but wouldn't usually bother IRL - but I don't think that's me being different, it's just the format being different, you know? If I could say things IRL whenever I thought of what I wanted to say, without interrupting anyone, I'd talk more in IRL discussions too.

I think that IRL I probably come across as more of an airhead, too.
