I'm expecting a baby, & now that my due date is coming near, I will have to purchase everything baby related. I don't know where to begin?!!! It's so overwhelming w/ all the latest baby gear coming out. My friends are older so most of them r not having babies any more. Need help.....
Bassinets, carriages, swings, car seats, toys, etc, etc.
please, if you've recently had a baby, & purchased something that u/baby absolutely love, please share.

Hugs to you! That is so overwhekming! For now, you only need a carriage, and crib, (I love the Uppa baby vista and the arms reach crib, ) I love my baby carrier, and have a play mat for the baby to have some tummy and back time... As long as ur baby has a loving mommy he going to be okay.
Some more extras are an infant seat ( Fischer price has a great one for 40 dollars, a swing , a mobile ( tiny love or any!)
I got the grace click connect car seat, and the graco base for 79$ Which is amazing for traveling, when you don't want to schlep ur carriage!

Absolutely love my Rockaroo.(https://www.4moms.com/rockaroo) Baby can stay in it for long periods of time and is happy.
He also loves the Fisher Price Rainforest mobile (http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/brands/babytoys/products/Rainforest-Peek-a-Boo-Leaves-Musical-Mobile)
My friend recently bought us the Rainforest Jumparoo. She said her nephews LOVE it and stay in it for hours. It's not for newborns, though. (http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/brands/babygear/products/Rainforest-Jumperoo)
I love the Summer Infant Snuzzler Infant Support for Car Seats and Strollers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051BOEGE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00)
I also bought these CushyStraps that help hold baby's head in place in the stroller and carseat. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038JDD36?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00)
MAM pacifiers are the only ones my baby likes. The glow-in-the-dark ones are great! (http://www.amazon.com/MAM-Night-Silicone-Pacifier-2-Count/dp/B00DYOQMF6/ref=pd_bxgy_75_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0S6GQVJ7D10AKPVKQR8H)

I would recommend borrowing baby bouncers/swings. Even from a gemach for a week. So many infants are picky and won't calm down in one, but will in another.
I also recommend trying out strollers for yourself. Everyone is a different height, has different needs etc. go to a store: try folding them, carrying them, put a case of formula in the carriage and push it around. Try using the basket. What works for you?
Look at your budget, not style and brand name. I liked the non fancy ones and hated the ones "everyone raved about" so find what works for you. There is so much to get, find what works for you and don't spend too much! Minimum: place for baby to sleep, a way to feed baby (nurse vs formula, and if in USA get pump from insurance!), basic clothes, diapers, car seat (hospital requires it so if you don't own a car, borrow one that isn't too old or was ever in an accident for the taxi) and while technically stroller isn't a must, practically it is just to get around.

Personally, I never understood a wipes warmer. You can't use it on shabbos really (AFAIK) and unless you live in Alaska or the Ukraine it doesn't get THAT cold (with indoor heat and all).

Car seats: try seeing if one fits in your stroller if you want an infant seat. Then look for high weight limits (35 is about the max for an infant seat). They all are pretty much the same: graco, Chicco etc. if you want instead to just get a convertible car seat, it's one less to buy (you need one later anyways because you should rear face until 2) but find one that fits from infancy. And you lose major convenience factors of an infant seat so I personally (if $$ isn't a major factor) would do infant to convertible.

Bassinets: never found the need. Used for such a small portion of time. Get a pack n play of you must have one as it will be used over and over when you visit people. And can give you time if you don't have a crib. You don't need all the doo-dads. Find what you are likely to use. One pack n play out there has a diaper holder. For an extra $$$. Waste as will you spend time filling it just to collapse the pack n play? I did like the infant level on my pack n play so I didn't have to bend so far post birth with a fragile newborn.

Toys... Wait on them. Get one soft with contrasting colors if you will feel like a bad parent. But odds are it won't be touched for at least a little while.
B'shaa tova!
