Buy a Hamilton Beach, Rival or Crock Pot with a manual dial.
The oval ones are great since you can layer chicken and other items in there during the week for dinner.
What size do you need? I can offer some suggestions.

Btw my crock pot is bigger than I need, so I put the soup and ferfl, kugel, in double bags, drop it into crock pot before shabbos, so I have only one thing on the counter.... when I want to serve soup, I put the bag into a bowl and cut it open.

I have a Rival Crock Pot, it works super well, lasting at least 13 years!
