I'm looking for some new ideas for side dishes. I usually make rice, potatoes, or farfel.
Any other ideas to change things up?
I don't think quinoa will go over so well.

I made millet on Yom Tov. To me it tasted very similar to couscous. It was a nice change from rice and quinoa.

Just do more vegetable side dishes. Some vegetables are starchy enough to even feel like a replacement for a starchy side. But there also isn't any rule that you must have a starch with every meal.
Butternut squash, zucchini, other squashes or gourds, sweet potatoes, corn. All starchy vegetables if you need a starch. But as I said, you don't NEED one.

This is the general idea though there is no need to use margarine or soup mix. |
Thank you, I will try this! Definitely going to leave out the margarine.

I usually try to make a vegetable side as well as carb. I'm the only one who eats the veggie but I will usually still make it or at least a salad.
I'll steam broccoli, green beans, or asparagus.
Sweet potato is a great idea, I haven't made any in a long time!
