I went with dh to a local hotel for a night and after an afternoon nap I found a bed bug sitting in my bedding! What do I do now? Cant go home cuz have someone else sleeping there to watch the kids... We searched the beds and x find any other evidence of infestation. What can I do to prevent bringing these little pests home with us? Im terrified!!!!
Plz help!!!!!

Oh boy. I'm so sorry I would:
1- buy a spray and spray your overnight bag and every single bag/suitcase you will be bringing out of that room inside and out
2- Spray your shoes
3- put all your clothing and anything else that's cloth/that can be put in the dryer in bags like a shopping bag or garbage bag (ask the front desk if you don't have), sealed closed and not just tied in a knot, and put the stuff directly in the dryer when you get home.
For a spray I'd recommend 'cedarcide' but I don't know if you can get that at a local store; it might only be available online.
By the way, the fact that you didn't find any other evidence of infestation is unfortunately not proof that there isn't in fact an infestation NY hotels are notorious for bed bugs, and if you found one, there's your proof that there is!!
Good luck!!!

And after you come home you might want to call an extermination company to do a one time bed bug prevention treatment in your house. You can never be too careful with these things and it is SO easy to spread them unfortunately

You need to call a bedbug specialist stat. Don't mess around with this. Put everything from the hotel in a trash bag for now. Call tomorrow!!!!

Are you 100% sure it was a bed bug, not just a bug in your bed?

they come at night. and they come out when its dark.if there is too much light you wont see them they go into the mattress or linen so wont be able to see. but if its dark and you pick up sheet slowly but fast enough so you can see before they run in and only with a flashlight.hatzlacha getting rid of it.
