My 17 year old son has a terrible problem with underarm sweating. He has tried very strong anti-perspirants which did not help him. Right now he is trying Drionic for underarms, which uses an electric current and water which is supposed to stop the sweat. He has been using it for 7 weeks now, with no positive result. I feel so bad for him because the Drionic (which cost $200) was our last resort and it does not seem to be working.

Do any of you have experience with excessive sweating in your family and any good solutions or suggestions?

Poor guy, that must be so hard for him!

I've heard good things about Botox treatments for sweating. Is he seeing a dermatologist and an endocrinologist?

Go to his GP or maybe an endocrinologist? They can possibly give you some help or ideas of what to do.

OP here. We've gone to a pediatrician and a dermatologist, both of whom suggested the Drionic. Our pediatrician did not suggest an endocrinologist. I will have to look into that.
Thanks.
