For some reason, I've tried so many potato kugel recipes and they never have come out good. My kids asked me this week, if I could get a potato Kugel recipe from a neighbor of ours for this Shabbos. I made two pans of it, followed directions exactly, but realized while they were cooking , that I never put any onions in. I checked the recipe, and no mention of onions. I asked the neighbor, who said that yes, it calls for one onion. Too late! Once again it doesn't taste good. Anything I can do after they are already baked? Thanx so much. Also, what blade do you use on your food processor?

Many people omit the onion from the potato kugel as a matter of preference and it still comes out great. So as long as you seasoned the kugel enough is should be fine!
Here's our favorite, with precise instructions.
Potato Kugel
• 1/2 cup oil
• 1 onion, peeled and quartered
• 8 large Russet or Idaho potatoes, peeled and quartered (approximately 4.5 lbs.)
• 6 eggs, lightly beaten
• 1 Tbsp salt
• 1/4 - 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Pour oil into a 9 x 13 pan. Place in the oil in the hot oven.
In the meantime, process the onions in a food processor fitted with a knife blade ("s" blade) until smooth. Add potatoes and process until almost smooth.
Pour batter into a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs, salt and pepper. Stir until thoroughly combined.
When the oil in the oven sizzles, remove the pan carefully from the oven. Pour the sizzling oil into the potato kugel batter, and swirl it in.
Pour the batter into the pan that had the oil in it.
Bake uncovered for 1 hour. Serve hot and enjoy!

My recipe is a comercial one and have shared it with tons of ppl.
you can make half recipe if you don't need this much.
10 lbs potatoes (I used 2 5lb bags idaho)
18 eggs
2 cups oil
1/2 cup seltzer
2 tsp. Black pepper
6tsp. Salt
I use a huge bowl to make the eggs mixture. Then I shred potatoes and add to eggs mixture, mix very well.
I spray oil a roaster pan and put the mixture in.
bake at 500 for 45 min
then lower heat to 350 for 1 hr.
