What toys keep a one and a half year old busy? What are some toys they'd appreciate a few months down the road, closer to 2 years old?

Mega blocks
DUPLO
cars of course. But the ones where you can open doors/hoods tricks and tractors. Ageless
mitzvah menchies
Fake/old phones
clay/crayons/stickers
I'm trying thinking what else my 2yo nephew plays with.....
Hexi snaps?

These are the toys that my 3 yo son has been playing with non-stop for over a year:
Car garage, cars, trucks, car mat etc.
magna tiles
mitzvah kinder
blocks
train set
duplo
kitchen set-with food pots and pans
There are tons of clunky toys out there for that age, but the kids usually outgrow it quickly and it takes up a lot of space. They also can be noisy and annoying. Imo go for the good sets that can be stored in a container, or if it is large make sure it will last years (eg. kitchen set and garage).

I've never heard of hexi-snaps before, but they look interesting. Can 2 year old really play with that though?

I saw in a toy store a kiddy cleaning station, broom, shovel, mop, dishrag, etc the cutest thing. I would love that for my toddler, he's forever emptying out my broom closet!!!!

I don't think it's for a 2 yr old.
some suggestions:
fisher price school bus
fisher price car garage that has the spiral road going down.
duplo
any toy with buttons that sings and makes noise.

Hexi snaps I'd say is for 2 +. 1.5 might be a little young. But he might be able to put them together randomly without pattern or imagination. A 2 yo already has a developed imagination amd that's when they start ti really enjoy those kind of toys. So maybe for when hes two. Same is with magnatiles.
