My mother has had an extremely challenging year. My brother had a beautiful idea- since we are eight children ka"h and there are eight nights of chanukah, we should each give my mother a gift with a beautiful note an a different night. My mother is the type who never ever thinks of herself or puts herself first and she really deserves this. I love the idea, but don't know what to get her. Money is tight and I want the gift to be meaningful- I can always get her a mani/pedi or spa gift certificate if I can't think of something else, but I'm open to all ideas. Preferably would like to spend under fifty dollars but can technically go to 100 if needed.

Any suggestions?

How about perfume or a new bag/pocketbook?

How about a necklace or bracelet with one charm representing each of her children (or grandchildren but this might be harder/more expensive if there are a bunch). Use either birthstones or each child's initials.

Talk to your siblings to make sure she's not getting duplicates.

They sell these iron sheitel heads decorated with tulle and flowers. Very pretty. My friend got it for her mother and she wrote a beautiful poem about her mother being the head of the family........

You can order a phrase or a name made up of pictures from nature I.e. each letter is a picture of a tree branch or something. (I though I had seen it on Michaels but I don't see it now.) I've seen it done in Hebrew too, e.g. Hodu LaHashem Ko Tov in a series of photographs. There's a photographer in Lakewood who can do this for you.

A photobook at Shutterfly etc.
If you have photos of a recent family trip or from Succos, make up a story or just cute captions.
