Im looking for a pr of very soft flat black leather (not faux leather) riding boots w rubber soles, that hug thin calves. All leather- not combination fabric, with full zipper.
I dont want to spend a fortune, Id go up to $150 for the right pair.
Any ideas?

I've spent years finding boots like this. It doesn't exist in this price range.
I'd suggest finding the cheapest pair of comfy black leather zip boots you can get and taking them to a shoemaker to have the shaft taken in to the exact width you need.

Anytime Ive tried to alter a shoe/boot Ive never been happy with the result. Its too much of a gamble to possibly have to throw the boots out. Boots are made of way too many pieces (leather, lining and interfacing) to be able to do the job neatly.

Have very thin calves as well and I wear Franco Sarto (the model I have is Poet but it's out of date). Not super expensive but very fitted in the calves. Note that I wear a size smaller in their shoes than normal, so if I'm normally 6.5, I wear 5.5-6 in their boots which also means the calf is narrower.

I also "suffer" from the same problem - and I have a small foot and many don't start until 5.5/6 I finally gave in and bought a pair of Aquatalia boots during the Nordstrom anniversary sale (happens every summer in July) when they put all the new fall stuff on sale before the season - it's their best sale. The soles are amazing and they hug the calves perfectly - I was told that any italian/european company is a good choice for skinny calves. Also int he mean time try flat ankle boots to wear with black tights until you find the right boots

Im very hard to please. I didnt like the first pair (not feminine looking), the second pair is combination leather/elastic and the third has too pointy a toe to be comfortable... Thanks though.
Im considering these but the sole isnt as heavy/rubbery/snow appropriate as Id have liked.
