What is your experience with white painted cabinets?

I'm into it now. BAD. My sil has 2 tone. Top white bottom some dark color. Her white is terrible. 2 yrs old. I know somebody who had there's done by rosewood after 6 months she said it was a terrible mistake. Painted is in general worse than a natural wood.

Painted cabinets require more upkeep than stained in that they show dirt more readily. I have cream & buttermilk, and deep navy blue & buttermilk painted cabinets -- I painted them myself! As far as durability, depends on the paint. I used Cabinet Coat, an excellent waterborne enamel, on the cream &buttermilk cabinets; and Benjamin Moore Advance, an alkyd waterborne enamel for the deep blue.
