My siblings and I made sheva brachos for my niece - it cost each of us about $220. Do you think it is necessary/ appropriate to give a wedding gift as well?

You don't have to. That can be your wedding gift - to make a sheva brochos. Or you can choose to give a gift as well. It's your decision.
When my parents make Sheva brochos for their nieces and nephews (done together by all the aunts and uncles) they buy a gift under $25, like a silver challah knife, crystal salt shaker...
However, majority of my aunts and uncles don't give a gift as the Sheva brochos does cost a lot and that is what they consider a gift.
