Recipe calls for white wine vinegar in a marinade. What could I use in place of it if I dont have it in the house?

I dont have that either. I have regular vinegar, apple cider vinegar, rice vinegar...can any of thoes work?

:/ is this a marinade for meat? I would just try white cooking wine but I am ok with experimenting
definitely not rice vinegar. dont think the others are similar either

Either cider or rice would work. Cider is a tad sweeter than rice wine but wouldn't be noticeable unless you are using huge amounts f vinegar :-).

Yes it does. I've never bought it because I don't need more than five different vinegars 
Depending on the recipe I use rice wine or cider vinegar. I think anything other than plain vinegar works unless color is important - I.e you don't want to use balsamic vinegar in a marinade or sauce that is white or cream colored.

That is what I use if I run out of white wine vinegar.
Cider vinegar is a good sub too but the rice vinegar is more neutral.
