Looking to buy a doll for my one year old. Any recommendations for a good first doll?

Something soft and washable. Nothing with batteries!

The one linked above looks hard. for a first doll I like the kind with a soft body and plastic head, hands, and sometimes feet. The plastic face makes it look realistic enough for older toddlers and kids to love, as opposed to a real "rag doll" type, but the soft body is friendlier for little ones, you can hug them and cuddle them like you can't do with a fully plastic doll. My 5 y/o still favors her soft-bodied doll.

Look up Corrolle dolls on Amazon and then buy a cheaper version of that. I think Target makes their own branded knockoff. They're all the same idea, I don't really see a reason to spend $50 on a little kid's doll. One of my kids happens to have a Corolle doll that was received as a gift and it is indeed a very nice one, but the other kid has a no-name doll that is also of the soft body/plastic head and arms variety and she's just as happy with it.

Manhattan Toy Baby Stella Peach Soft Nurturing First Doll (new for 2015!) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T.....9SPEN
I like how soft this doll is, do you think it's not realistic enough? Is that something that's important?

Corolle 14 inch baby doll is really nice and a little more substantial than the 12 inch tidoo doll. My oldest is still playing with hers at 6 and she has had it since she was 1. Each year we get or make clothes or bed for her.

My girls hardly play with large dolls, and never really showed a preference for realistic dolls vs. rag dolls vs. stuffed animals.

My kids enjoyed dolls from this range and I think they're adorable. I just chose one at random, look through their selection.

Mine have been through the washing machine many times and still look beautiful.
