I was very sad to see this.
He had such a big impact on my life when I was a girl in camp sternberg.
Such an amazing person and a real loss for am yisroel. He lived an incredible life.

I too went to Sternberg and years later when I learned of Rabbi Greenwald's political and diplomatic double life I could hardly believe he was the same man that walked through the dining room after a fast, making sure all the girls ate slowly and took breaks so we wouldn't make ourselves sick. They just don't make them like Rabbi Greenwald. I can't help but notice that according to the article, Rabbi Greenwald merited a *misas neshika*.

This is a tremendous loss for the Jewish world and the world at large.

Rabbi Greenwald impacted my life so tremendously. He truly saw the good in every person and saw potential in me (and countless other individuals) when even I didn't.

I hope I live up to his belief in me.

I also went to Sternberg and have a tremendous sense of gratitude and respect for Rabbi Greenwald. I have many fond memories of him and of camp. He was a very unique and special man. It is a real loss for klal yisroel.

Someone forwarded me this information:

The Levaya will take place at 7PM Israel time in Neve Yerushalayim, and then going to Har Tamir.

Shiva Details:
Israel: Until Motzei Shabboss at Rechov HaKablan 24 in Har Nov.
Israel: Sunday through Monday evening at Rechov Shaulson 8 in Har Nov.
USA: Mrs. Greenwald and Chana Shterna Lewenstein will be sitting shiva starting Sunday at the Greenwald residence 53 Regina Road, Airmont, NY. The rest of the children will be joining in Monsey starting Tuesday morning.

We will continue to collect messages to sternberg@shmacamps.com to be sent to the Greenwald Family.

Thank you for posting shiva information.

Rabbi Greenwald was a truly unique individual. I think there are very few people who know all of the roles he played, all the people he helped , and he was still so accessible. Klal Yisroel has lost a great man.
