My close friend is currently going through a separation.
She has a few young children, works very hard but is in a tough financial situation.

Does anyone know of any organizations that can possibly help?
Either with food packages, money for rent etc. ..?

When I was single, I got a food package from masbia for yom tov. I think they do Shabbos/weekend packages as well.

She could contact Sister to Sister for referrals. They might only work with divorced women and not separated, but I would imagine they could at least give her a few leads.
