my 10.5 month old just started walking. she has those cute leather moccasins that do nothing to support her foot but are less slippery then socks.
at what point do I need to get her fitted for real shoes?

My baby started walking last week. I passed the shoes store and they had a great sale so I went in and bought even though I was not ready. I tries them on at home later and he was so happy with them and didn't want to take it off. He was more confident and picking up his feet higher and making bigger steps. I was never a big believer in supportive shoes but now I am!

I prefer that my baby would be barefoot. she walks best that way. I waited 2 months and she still only wears them when we go outside

I say get shoes when she's seriously going to be playing outside. If it's snowy and/or cold where you live, I'd wait until the spring. She doesn't need shoes to walk around indoors. They are for protecting her feet outdoors. She's going to need good quality shoes for her first pair and I'd personally delay buying them until I knew they would be useful.
Either way, I wouldn't buy shoes right away. Wait a couple of months. They are not good for her feet and can make walking difficult.

im just nervous about not getting them yet because ive heard that they need the support right away or there can be issues later on...
