hi
I was wondering which products you guys use on your sheitels, both synthetic and human hair to wash and condition them?
I dont know what to use. I ve read so many different opinions but I want to know from people with experience - what you use that doesnt fade your sheitel. for example, can you use regular hair shampoo on synthetics?

thank you for any help!

Synthetic is plastic. You use whatever you'd use on your laundry.

I would never use laundry detergent on a sheitel, even a fully synthetic one.

Use shampoo, and lots of conditioner.

I wore only syntehtics for years, and that's what the sheital macher told me to wash them with. That's what they use!

Wisk or All.

technically, choclate is right. You can use laundry detergemt, but most of us shaitel people prefer shampoo and conditioner, easy on the conditioner. To much can make the hair oily, and make it end up really "icky" (very technical term here!) much faster. Just don't use a curling iron or a hot blow dryer (use the cool setting on the blowdryer if you have that!) synthetics melt. Hot rollers on low work best.

you don't have to use special wig shampoo, but I'd use the kind for color treated hair, that's for sure. I've seen shampoo strip the color right off the hair!

I've used pantene pro-v on my human hair (european) sheitels. that's what a few of the sheitel machers here use.

the best shaitel shampoos are Suave and VO5. they are the cheapest ones but work better then anything else. The cheaper the shampoo, the less gunk it has in it (usually). shampoo residue left in the hair can cause the hair to get tangly and feel dirty.

so using regular shampoo on synthetic doesnt make the colour fade?
I see special wig shampoos being sold, is this just a ploy to get your money when u can really use regular shampoo?

I just bought an inexpensive ponytail attachment and hat extension from thestylishair.com --amazing prices btw--they say to dilute regular shampoo and then wash...
