So we just found out something about a home we're under contract for. When we went into attorney review, there were two tenants living in the home. They were both served notice to vacate early January when attorney review was completed. One tenant already left and the other tenant we were just told is section 8. Now we are getting worried because we thought the home would be completely vacated in a few weeks and after looking online it looks like it now may take much longer than that.
Question is - is this something our attorney should have asked before we finished attorney review (ie the status of the tenant)? Because now our attorney is hinting that we may owe him more if we request any extra work. So now I'm doubley upset because I think he may try to charge us for fixing something he should have caught to begin with!
Any advice welcome....

What does your contract say? If it doesn't specify "vacant" you may be able to break the contract.
