I am looking into art therapy for my child, who has combination of different problems.
I cannot afford any therapy now.
is there any kind of art therapy I can do myself with the child?
not the kind where I analyze it, cause I dont know how to, but is there some part that I could do myself with child?
when I google art therapy many inserting coloring pictures come up.
how does that work? does it just have a relaxing effect?
would love to hear from someone who has done it themselves or who is an art therapist and can just suggest me what I can do.
thank you

Where are you located? There are places that take all insurances and have art therapists on staff. It's great that you're taking the initiative to help your child. However, art therapy is a therapy as any other and needs to be done via a professional. Besides all the necessary training, a lot of the therapeutic value comes from the therapeutic relationship, which you as a parent cannot provide (in that way). You can definitely do art activities with your child and create a healing space for self-expression; while it would not constitute art therapy, it would likely be beneficial.
