There was a thread a few months ago discussing antiperspirants and or deodorants for preteens.
I am looking for suggestions to light antiperspirants appropriate for a 9 year old but can't seem to find the thread.
If anyone can help and link me to the thread I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know where the thread is, but I've always bought Secret for my girls. Very light. I use Degree and I have a lot of skin allergies, and I've been able to use this deodorant just fine!

I have a dd that nothing works on. I just ordered Piper Wai that was on Shark Tank. It's on backorder since apparently the entire country wants a non-chemical deodorant. I can't wait to see how it works.

Thanks everyone. Any sprays available? She's very sensory and I'm not sure she'll be able to handle a wet roll on.

Solid deodorant/antiperspirant is certainly more comfortable to apply and needs no time to dry before getting dressed. I'm not sure if any are "lighter" than others. Unscented is best for all age groups, IMO.

Personally, recently I find all underarm products irritating after a few days of use. To avoid odor naturally, apply witch hazel. The large hemorrhoid wipes are great for this. It takes a minute or so to dry. Not at all slimy like a roll-on.

I myself am sensory (less than her) and abhor roll on, which is why I'm asking about spray.

Also, she doesn't smell bh. I think she just needs an antiperspirant which will lessen perspiration.

She doesn't necessarily need a deodorant to cover smells though a soft scent could be nice at times as sometimes there is just that outdoor smell on her clothes not necessarily a sweaty smell.

If I may hijack the thread a bit, can someone help me find a product for DD? She soaks through all of her clothes, and smells like a boy's locker room on a summer day. Silent

She showers twice a day, and uses Secret, but it barely lasts for 10 minutes until she's stinky again. She's super aware of it, and I feel really bad for her.

Why don't you try TOm's of Maine? I believe they're aluminum-free.

why are you concerned about sweating? if she smells and you are concerned about the smell, I get it. but just sweating? its the bodys way of getting rid of toxins. make sure she wears cotton as a first layer. I like ava andersons spray deodorant.
any antiperspirant will have aluminum.

My friend had the same exact thing. She would literally leave sweat footprints all over the house. She literally tried every over the counter treatment, but nothing helped her. She went to a specialist who gave her some kind of rubbery suit to wear at night, I forgot what it's called. It really helped her.

Tom's of Maine does not work well unless you don't sweat much. For your dd why not try the one I ordered. You can watch youtube videos were people are saying that nothing else worked until this.

how is her diet? I found that as a girl when I ate lots of sugar and white flour I sweated horribly vs. when I cut those out it was way better.

I went to my doc to ask for a prescription deodorant and I was always sopping wet from sweat. I was told to try the mens mitchum fist as it is the strongest non prescription one and see from there. It has been amazing. I use the soft solid
