You can totally be anon. I don't usually ask general advice but I would totally trust him I just am not that type. When I want advice I often will ask other women first.

Thanks! Can I ask the Rabbi's name? Is it only one Rabbi who answers questions at that number?

Looking at this, Im thinking he answers "Shailohs" only, though.

By the way, I've called several rabbanim for various issues (like advice when I was dating, a business question, a kashrut question, etc) and none of them have ever asked me for my name. Is that a usual question? I've called both local and international rabbanim. They just listened to my questions and answered accordingly. Not personal at all.

I've asked here.
Takes a few days to get answer.
Gives you the source also.

My question (I hijacked this old thread) is more of a "Dear Abby" type question, how to deal with a person question. Certainly not in the Halacha/Din category.

I chose two of the above suggestions thinking theyll answer not specifically Halachic questions.

I tried the Lincoln Center Rabbi's number and the Chicago Rabbi's number, and got voicemail on both and I left messages. Can I expect return calls?

Update: Both called back, pretty soon after. But for a real answer I needed someone who was familiar with family dynamics, which I found.
