I googled it and found that nail polish remover or alcohol should help loosen and melt Hot Glue. Also putting item in the freezer.

None are helping to get rid of the stuck on hot glue.

Anything else?

heat up your hot glue gun & run it over the glue to soften it ... but be careful not to burn the material
