To give my OBGYN a MM? My appt is next Tues so it obviously wouldn't count for the mitzvah, but just as a nice gesture?

Sure, why not? I mean, an OB-GYN themed m"m might be inappropriate....

Debsey, I don't think op meant ob/gyn THEMED mm. She meant giving them a mm on her next visit which is a few days after Purim as a nice gesture.
Yes op, it's a very nice gesture and shows you think of them. As long as it's not too far after Purim it's OK!

I know - I was kidding! I think it's always appropriate to give someone a gift, especially a Dr, who doesn't always get to see people at their best.

Either a nice box of chocolates cookies or a diffuser that has a nice smell is also appropriate

That's how I get rid of the better M"M extras - like the boxed chocolates or the ten boxes of filled rolled wafers I have - I use the prettier packaging I got, add some of those pretty but unwanted (by me) items, and make M"M for any doctors or therapists I'll be visiting that week (not for frum people, who won't thank me for it!) But since I happen to have a standing OT appt with my son this week, I'll make a M"M for the OT and for the receptionist there, etc. This way I can express appreciation, give a nice gift (those chocolates and wafers would be nice, if I wouldn't have so many already) and get rid of extra calories that I don't need.
