Do they go to the knee or are they shorter than that? I'm looking at this dress-

http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....91002

She is almost 4 yrs old but small so I'm thinking would a 3T go to her knees?

It depends on the specific dress. My daughter is a chunky 3 year old. She was popping buttons on certain size 5 dresses this winter - but they all needed hemming.

This season I bought her a loose-fitting dress. The 5 was huge and the 4 was perfect. It hit just at the knee. I don't need it any longer than that at this age.

My 3 year old is on the taller side, and will be wearing 4t Gap dresses IY"H on pesach. This past season she wore 3t.

I like when they hit at knee length or just a bit above knee length.

Hope that helps.

So it seems like I should size up, but the thing is then I think it would be too big everywhere else. Hm! I thought only teenagers and adults have this problem of needing 2 different sizes for top and bottom! Might just have to go with skirts and tops...

Try the size 4 in non-toddler sizes maybe. Probably a slimmer cut, slightly longer.
