We've been looking into homes in the Airmont area. We're heimish (shtreimel) and from Monsey. Airmont seemed ideal, and I like the general area (quiet, but close to shops), however when you go just a bit further out it's a lot cheaper.
I was wondering about the area past South Airmont Road.
Are there any heimish families there? Is there a Shul in the area where my husband won't be the only shtreimel-wearer?
We don't need an exclusive heimish/chassidish neighborhood. I like living in a mixed neighborhood. But my husband doesn't want to feel like the odd one out.
Please share if you know anything. Thank you
