My son has some sensory issues that are being worked on in therapy.

Lately he has been exhibiting aggressive behaviors and anxiety that the therapist is suggesting is behavioral.

He is a bright, articulate child but it seems like something is bothering him that he doesn't know how to articulate verbally and it manifests with hitting, nail biting, screaming etc.

Is play therapy a good solution?

If yes, are there any bilingual Yiddish therapists in Brooklyn that would take insurance?

If you have any experience as a behavior Therapist (not sure what the right term is) please chime in.

I really want to help my child with whatever is causing him anxiety. He is such a gentle soul otherwise. The new behavior is concerning to us.

How is his expressive language? Does he have any speech delays? Does he have the skills to draw what is making him mad or sad?

He is usually very verbal to express feelings of sadness, happiness, fear etc.

Actually, he started to speak at a young age, using regular words, not "baby language".

Although I get comments about his "maturity", he has some social issues as well.

Since he needs to work on his fine motor skills, drawing is not really an option.

He is only 5.

What are my options?

I don't live in NY so have no personal recommendations of therapists but yes behavioral/family/play therapy definitely sounds like what you should be looking for
