You know how Chrome (at least) puts a red squiggle under a word to suggest spelling corrections? Well recently I'm noticing a gray squiggle. I'm not sure what exactly it is supposed to indicate but its suggestions are so offensive. It wanted me to turn a while into "awhile" and "every time" into "everytime." And now that I'm writing it here it's giving "everytime" a red squiggle. I'm getting all psyched out. What's going on?

Just tried chrome on my tablet. Don't see what you mean. But I didn't update chrome. I keep getting a pop up to update it. So if it's related then....

I don't know for sure, but I would guess it's some sort of grammar check. I feel like Word used to use a grey squiggle when they thought your grammar was off. I use chrome on my computer and haven't seen it, though.

I get that it's supposed to be some kind of check but what I can't handle is any kind of checker telling me that "awhile" is not only acceptable but recommended, over my correct usage! Tell me this is just a bad dream!
