They can't do the shopping because we won't have a car there all week- I have to do all of my shopping for the week on Sundays. And dd won't want to clean up supper. She may be able to help me cook certain things, but I get worried about burns.


You can help them take stuff out the oven. I have my kids from age 7 cook dinner once a week. They tell me what they want to make and I do the shopping. At 7 I turn on the gas and watch them (especially with cutting), gradually they can do more and more, by 11 can cook a whole meal with limited supervision.
