Does anyone have any ideas for inexpensive hostess gifts? I am making a Bar Mitzvah and need to buy something for the friends and neighbors who will be housing my guests. I have about 15 to buy so I don't want to spend a lot but they need to look nice. Thank you!

How much are you looking to spend per gift? A few ideas I can think of are:

tealight holders
candy dish filled with chocolates or nuts
set of shot glasses for kiddush
netilas yadaim towels
serving dish

Many of these items can be purchased at Amazing Savings for $5-$10 (if you have one near you).

Thanks for the suggestions. We do have an Amazing Savings but I would rather not purchase something from there because everyone goes there and sees the same things. Any suggestions for other stores?

How about a book for your hosts to read over Shabbat? Perhaps something Judaic related to the bar mitzvah. Or maybe a selection of magazines, with something for everyone.

A candy tray, small fruit platter, bottle of wine or special juice, or a selection of gourmet foods would be very nice. Think along the lines of a gift bag with Israeli jam and honey.

Tchotchkes for the house fall into the "it's the thought that counts" category, IMO.

Chocolate truffles- if you can make them will be very affordable.

I don't know where you are located but in NY the small oh nuts platters cost 9 premade and if you make them yourselves they usually cost around 7.
