Fry an onion and some garlic
1 14 oz pkg tilapia
28 oz tomato sauce or tomato puree
(Basil
oregano
Salt
Sugar
Pepper all to taste...put in a few tablespoons of salt and sugar)
Can of mushrooms

Make sure tilapia isn't touching bottom of pan and is covered in sauce mix all over. Cook in big saucepan and cover and cook for 1/2 hour or more. Very hard to overcook this Smile

I made this up myself based on a tomato sauce recipe my mother used to make but without spices, onion, or mushrooms. My husband who is a foodie loves it Smile

I dust in flour and garlic powder salt and pepper and sear with olive oil. It's amazing and then hit each side w more seasoning after its flipped and include a little paprika. Quickest tilapia ever. I put it with roasted potatoes of some sort.

The not so healthy way:

dip tilapia piece in egg and flavored bread crumbs. fry in frying pan. Tastes like a fresh fish cake/fish stick but waaaaay better.

I usually bake it though (but with the breading) because I hate standing over a frying pan. Doesn't taste as good, but my family will still eat it, and it's healthier than other way. I do this with the dagim frozen tilapia packages. It is easier to handle than the frozen flounder packs.

I ended up making this recipe just without the tumeric and it was yum fresh. But Shabbos day, I tried to eat it cold and it was awful!
Would the Moroccan recipe taste good cold too?

Bring the tilapia to room temperature instead of leaving it cold and top with a chilled relish/salsa like avocado, tomato, red onion or chilled sauce like dill dijon sauce.

I don't think tilapia is good unless it's hot and fresh
