I don't remember the title of the book. It could have been "Nothing but the Truth." It was a semi-fictional account ("based on a true story") of a girl who became a BT and was engaged and then found out her mother had been previously married without a proper get. The way she stayed so strong and used her experiences to be there for others going through similar things inspired me to do the same.

ETA: Just to clarify, I did not go through that experience myself - referring to difference circumstances!

Awareness by Miriam Adahan
Appreciating People (including yourself) by Miriam Adahan

The Committed Life by Rebetzin Jungreis (and other's by her, but that's my favorite by far.)

Funny a few people seem to have loved Man's Search for Meaning. My sister was very into that book but it didn't speak to me so much. Guess different strokes for different folks.

There's a book written by a woman in Monsey that had a brain hemorrhage and recovered a large percentage of her functionality as a wife and mother. It touched me very deeply. Can't remember the title, but the opening poem makes me get all teary just thinking of it. And so grateful that I have never physically struggled to be a wife and mother, and do whatever that entails....

Do you remember the publisher? For some reason the title Climbing the Mountain comes to mind.

Rabbi Noach Orlowek on parenting

Raising Roses Among the Thorns
My Child My Disciple

One of my children was quite challenging and I felt a real paradigm shift when I read one of these books, not 100% sure which one but BH it made a huge difference.

Can people please post why the books they mentioned were life-changing (where not obvious, of course). Though perhaps the thread could be moved to an amother-enabled forum...

I believe the book you're referring to is called Struggle to the Summit by Rivka Zucker.
