We're in section 8 and just found out im pregnant. Dh would like to inform landlord asap so we can be put on the waiting list for a 2 bedroom. I'm not sure how to do that, just send letter from Dr? And it feels funny to me to tell landlord now if we're waiting to tell family.

I don't think you need to inform your landlord. You need to inform the Sec. 8 government offices. But I may be wrong so wait till other people chime in.

In this case, Mama Bear is right, what's the rush? Baby can sleep with you for a while before you need to move. Take it as it comes.

Just tell landlord we would like to upgrade to a 2 bedroom, please put us on waiting list. No explanation needed. He figures it out-good for him.
If an apartment becomes available before baby, will you be able to pay the difference till the birth?
