Both families are out-of-town, in different cities, but we can all get to NYC. The bride wants a comprehensive facility where she doesn't have to make separate hiring and purchasing decisions. We all want good simple food and an attractive setting.
I've been asked to visit wedding facilities to narrow down or make the final choice. Also, I need to find a nearby hotel to recommend to guests.
Do you have any recommendations? Where did you have or attend a simcha and appreciate the setting? What was great about it? And what pitfalls should I be alert to?
Thanks so much.

Do you specifically want Manhattan as opposed to Brooklyn (or anywhere else in NYC)? Manhattan venues are generally quite expensive. What is your budget? On the other hand, many of the cheaper places have higher minimums, which you may have a hard time meeting if both sides are from OOT. About how many people are you expecting?

Would Lakewood work for you - the package deals are really excellent and many out of towners come here for that reason.

Lakewood will be significantly cheaper than Manhattan - lot of gorgeous halls at reasonable rates with full packages. Don't know if that is an option.
It would probably help if you give a budget.

Another option would be Williamsburg which is closer to the City.
