I would love to put a fresh scent in the clothes closet. Natural smelling would be a plus.
Any recommendations?

Make a pomander by sticking whole cloves into the thick rind of an orange or lemon, let dry, and hang in the closet. Or make sachets by filling orphan socks with a blend of whole spices such as cloves, cinnamon sticks, allspice, lavender blossoms, and eucalyptus leaves.

But the best way to freshen a closet is to take everything out of it, clean it thoroughly, leave it to air out for a day or more, preferably with windows open and natural breeze or a fan to increase air circulation, make sure nothing goes back into it that is not scrupulously clean and dry, and don't overfill it.

take small pieces of wood and add essential oils. Leave overnight in an air tight container. Open container and place in your closet. Repeat when scent is used up.

Thank you.
What does cedar do? I see they come on hangers so they can be put in the closet?

cedar repels insects that eat clothing. It works only as long as you can smell the wood. Once the smell is gone,. you can renew it by lightly sanding the surface. You can also buy cedar essential oil, but in that case, don't let it touch the clothing. Instead, put it on a cotton ball or piece of blotter paper in a small jar or margarine tub in the lid of which you've poked some holes, and place the jar in a corner of the closet.

Not necessarily scented (that I know of) but you can try DampRid. They're packets that absorb extra moisture in the air and can prevent that funky smell closed-off rooms get.
