I have a 2 GB memory card.
In my older digital camera, there was sufficient room on the card.
In the new digital camera, every two pictures I take, it tells me that there is insufficient space on the card.
Both are Canon cameras.
Does anyone know why this is the case?

Your new camera probably has much higher resolution. What is the megapixel number compared to the old one?
There are ways to adjust the number of pixels the camera captures for each photo but the quality of the pictures get worse the lower you go.
2 gb is not much these days.

In addition to the above, if you really mean two pictures, nothing by Canon takes 1 GB still photos, so you may have undeleted photos or videos on the card. So check for that too.
Once in a while I find I've filled up a larger card sooner than I thought and it's always because even though I've set my computer to delete photos from the camera after copying them to itself, once in a while it doesn't do that.
The highest resolution Canons at the moment are 50MP, and they cost thousands of dollars, so if you get one of those, you can probably afford another one or two perecent of that on a larger memory card.
