Now that I finally toiveled my Oster bread machine, can someone walk me through the process? What exactly does it do that's so great, and what are some great recipes? This was a gift

Make pizza for supper tonight! Find the homemade pizza dough recipe, put it in like 2 hours before suppertime. You will get an incredible smooth, stretchy dough. Spread into round pans (I do the 2-pie recipe), smear with a little olive oil, a generous coating of marinara or pizza sauce, and shredded cheese. Try some toppings, like onion and mushroom, or onion and colorful peppers, sliced tomatoes, etc....and bake at 375 for about 25 minutes. If you have any extra dough, make garlic knots - roll out, smear with olive oil generously, and top with garlic powder and oregano, make knots.
Try some of the bread recipes for lunch.
I use my machine alot for dough, even ones that I don't bake in the bread machine. They come out incredibly smooth.

I use my breadmachine all the time. It is for sure my most used kitchen appliance. When putting in ingrediants first do wet then dry then yeast. Below are some recipes that I have typed up.
Hot pretzels
1.5 c ww flour
1 c bread flour
½ t salt
½ t sugar
2.25 tsp yeast
For topping dissolve 1 tbs baking soda in warm water dip the pretzels in mixture sprinkle with salt let sit for ten minutes bake them at 450 for 9-10 min. brush melted butter on top
Whole wheat hamburger and hot dog buns
1 c water
1 egg
2 c ww flour
1 c bread flour
¾ tsp salt
¼ c shortening
¼ c sugar
3 tsp yeast
Makes 8 hamburger or 12 hotdog buns. Shape then let rise in warm oven for 10-15 min till almost doubled bake at 400 for 10-12 min
Garlic Knots
Dough
1 tbs yeast
1 1/3 c water
3 tbs sugar
3 2/3 c flour
1 tsp salt
¼ c oil
Garlic Mixture
½ C oil
3 cloves garlic
2 tsp salt
2 tbs parsley
Make dough, shape knots, dip in garlic mixture, let rise for half hr, and bake at 375 for 15-20 min
100% Whole Wheat Bread
1/4 c milk
1 c water
1 ½ tbs oil
¼ c gluten
1 ½ tbs sugar
1 ½ tsp salt
3 c whole wheat flour
1 ½ tsp yeast
Chaya’s Challah
1.5 C water
3 eggs
1/3 c oil
1.5 tsp salt
¾ c sugar
5.5 c flour
2 tbs yeast
Half Half Pizza Crust
1 ½ c water
1 tbs oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 ½ cups bread flour
1 tablespoon yeast
Leah W. Challah
1 tbs oil
2 eggs
½ c honey
2 c water
½ c sugar
2 c bread flour
4 ¼ c ww
2 tbs yeast
350 30 min
Breadsticks
2 1/4 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
3/4 c water
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbs butter
2 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp parsley
roll out dough to approx 8x8. slice to sticks. brush with butter mixture. bake a 500 for 8-10 min

Thanks for posting.
I love my bread machine.
Just note that the order of ingredients depends on the machine. In mine I put dry first and then wet, and yeast separate so read the manual.

I love my bread machines. I have two. I make two batches of Challah at the same time. Dough always comes out perfectly smooth, making the challah look professional.
One of my machines has a timer. I put the ingredients in the machine in the morning, set it to delay start so the dough is ready when I get home from work. Or, I put the ingredients at night, and set the dough to be ready in the morning.
My second machine also has a timer, but it cannot be used on the dough setting.
