I don't mind my 13yr old DD watching a couple of shows here and there especially over vacation, but I prefer something that isn't totally mindless or inappropriate. Can anyone recommend any quality programs that she'd enjoy?

Little House on the Prairie? You can find old episodes online. If you don't mind the Christian references, it's a nice show. At least the earlier seasons.
National Geographic documentaries?

Are you sure? It takes place in the 1880s; it wasn't "modern" when it came out in the 1970s either, and it was a big hit!
I was going to suggest "The Waltons," but I guess that wouldn't do either...
