We're going away for the summer exactly when a friend of mine is moving.
She's not moving away, just a few blocks, but I really wanted to be there to help out with packing, dinners, etc.
What can I do instead to a) ease the job and b) let her know I'm thinking of her?
I could freeze dinner, but wanted some other ideas...
TIA!

Can you help before or after the move? Maybe you can take her children for a few hours so she can pack or unpack in peace.
Do you have any regular help (cleaning, babysitting, etc) that will be at loose ends while you are away? Maybe you can ask if they would mind helping your friend during your usual time and you can foot the bill.
Can you arrange for other friends to make meals or help with the children and you contribute organizationally and/or monetarily?
Can you invite them for shabbos meals either before or after the move?
