My daughter had some similar, yet also totally different issues. I have some ideas, but don't want to just randomly throw them out without more info.

How old is your son?

Where on his body is the stiffness?

Does it come and go or is it all the time?

At the very least, if he's already doing PT for torticollis, ask the PT what he/she thinks. And lastly, I really think you should take him to a doctor to get referred to specialists (pediatric neurologist and orthopedist) ASAP - the earlier you get intervention, the more you can help him long-term.

Have you asked your pediatrician what he/she thinks about your son's problem? Regardless, I would request to see a pediatric neurologist right away.

The sooner you find out what the problem is, the more normal your child's functioning will be long term. Always trust your hunches - our pediatrician didn't really think what I saw was a problem, but the PT and neurologist saw it. What your describing sounds like it needs a specific kind of help, and knowing what is needed and why is the only way to make sure your child get the right kind of help. (My daughter is 3.5 now and is doing really well - I'm very pushy about seeing specialists and getting therapy and I really believe it has made a big difference in her functioning).

Where I live, there is a 4 month wait to see any pediatric neurologist, and my pediatrician actually had us go to the emergency room when my daughter was a baby - not because it was an immediate emergency, but because it was the only way to see a neurologist within the next few days. Whatever you have to do to see a pediatric neurologist in the next few days, you should do it - every extra day of appropriate therapy makes a big difference long-term!

Could I ask if the baby was born with the stiffness? It sounds as though it developed somewhere over time or it would've likely been picked up after the birth.

If it did develop over time, are you able to pinpoint an event which may have triggered it? It could be something like a bad virus or a reaction to vaccines, but it would really help if you noticed exactly when the symptoms arose.

As the above poster mentioned, I would go straight to a neurologist and make sure there wasn't a bleed or clot in the brain at some stage. Depending on the diagnosis, different types of therapies, medications or detoxes would be required.
