How do you clean your portable gas grill?

do you clean just the grate or the entire inside? how do you clean it? just a grill brush or more than that? what is the cleanest method to clean it? outside? in bathtub?

please help.

I use bbq grill mats, you can buy them anywhere, amazon... They are a sheet that you put on top of the grate. the food goes ontop of the sheet. when you are done grilling you just take off the sheet and wash it in the sink.
