I can't call it a sauce, but fry up some onions and garlic, add mushrooms (I like to mix varieties), salt and pepper and red wine. cook until the liquid reduces and you like the texture.

I also do a mushroom sauté and use that as a sauce. Sauté onion and garlic, then various sliced mushrooms. Can add splash of dry white wine and/or lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.
