I got a kindle fire and was not so into it but I want to keep it for my DS who is 5 1/2. I am planning to get myself another Ipad that he wont be able to use. He has been asking for games. What games do 5 year old boys like for the Fire? I don't mind paying a small amount if he will enjoy it and learn something.
Thanks!

If you don't have it already set up, you should create a kids account on the fire. It is reputably very secure. You can also set time limits with it.
A lot of amazon fire games are free.
these are games my girls (around your son's age) have or had on their account that he might enjoy. Some require more analytical thinking while others are mindless fun:
Subway Surfers
Happy Chef
Four in a Row
Cut the Rope (4 different versions) (very good)
Where's my Water
Angry Birds Go! (racing)
jewish.tv (chabad.org video app but there's a separate one that has just their kids videos)
sonic dash
Girls Hair salon (pazu) and strawberry shortcake (budge) - more age appropriate but also very girly
You can also try some instrument simulators (kids piano, etc), drawing/doodling apps, learning to read apps

My five year old is pretty obsessed with Cut the Rope at the moment. We also like a lot of the pbs kids games.
