What is full tuition in your kids school in lakewood. Please specify if its boys girls and grade level. If you are not paying full how much are you paying and were you given a hard time when u asked for scholarship.

$7200 for boys elementary. Got $1000 off just by asking for a discount.

I pay $4800 for my daughter (lower elementary). This is the official 'kollel' discount, I did not have to beg for it.

About $7,500 boys elementary after all the nickel and diming.
Never asked for a break and don't believe I would get one.

Approx 6300 for boys (or somewhere around there) + lunch
4800 for Girls - lunch is included
+ building fund and dinner - try to give them a percentage of my ma'aser if I'm able- about $2500\school for the dinner. They really deserve it!
I am grateful because I realize even though I'm going to be paying over 22K this year in elementary school tuition my kids go to great schools and are getting a great education and I have friends out of town paying 9K - 13K for each elementary age child in similar type of schools.
My boys tuition goes up about every other year. This year it went up a lot. My daughters school didn't go up at all this year.
Never asked for a break, probably would get one because we are far from wealthy, live in tiny 2 bedroom home, but I really want to be able to pay for my children's full education rather than other expenses if I'm able.

this is so so interesting!! I live in ny and I always heard lakewood tution is much cheaper!! it really doesnt seem like it

Really? The BY schools I know in NY all charge in the 10k ballpark.

$3800 girls elementary school tuition (full is $4800), $4800 high school (full is $6000), reduced Kollel rate. I wish I could pay full tuition. I hope to make it up to them someday. I'm very grateful to my kids schools, and I volunteer for stuff whenever I can.
The elementary school reduction was easier to get than for high school.
