How can I type Hebrew on android?

Can anyone tell me how to be able to type in Hebrew usinga smartphone? For texting, emails, etc.. Do I need to download an app?

You need to download either a keyboard that supports and Hebrew and/or the Hebrew support for that keyboard. I use the very popular SwiftKey keyboard. After you install it, you can pick from lots of languages that it supports and add them. Once you add Hebrew, you just swipe the enter key left and right to switch languages. It works great.

go to your settings, keyboard, languages, and you can add hebrew language there.

Not necessarily. It depends what keyboard is installed. If it is the default one that came with the phone, it may not have Hebrew support available. You may need to install an alternate one to get the Hebrew support.
