I check imamother from my phone. It logs in automatically so takes a second. You know, bathroom breaks, lunch brakes. I am self employed so that's my own time.
When I have a bus ride imamother is my companion.
Some times I check it at night too once I'm ready for bed.
I don't post often though unless I have a quick response or it's a topic I'm familiar with and can type quick. I'd rather read than write .
I do use the like button a lot to agree with what others wrote. They say what I think, only better.

You were right. The phrase is said on badchanim - jokers. Something like they get big schar in olam habbah. I remember learning it in school. I'm sure a knowledgeable poster can find the source.

Hats off figuratively to you. You are more knowledgeable than I about uses of the word.
We are on the same page. (Daf? Amud? Blat? )
ETA: just saw the post ahead of mine. Makes sense because I never heard the word leitz in any form used positively. But I fully agree with the sentiment.

I only check imamother at work. Sometimes not at all sometimes twice a day.
I use it as my "down time" to get a break from my intense work load.
Or when I am on hold, on the phone to a client who just wants to yell, or eating lunch at my desk. Usually 5 minutes a day gives me time to respond to the few threads I want to respond to.

I work from home. I post when on hold with client and that is plenty of times. I don't waste time otherwise.

It's funny, I'll have weeks where I don't have time to log on at all, and days (mostly certain boring tasks) that have me logging on every half hour. If I had co-workers in my office,I'd probably post a lot less.
BTW, just to be clear - I own my business, so I'm not depriving anyone of my labor when I log on. That would be unfair to my boss. |
Similar situation. WAHM, on computer all day, no coworkers for shmoozing (kids home this week, though). Sometimes can be super busy and don't come here at all, and other times there's lots of downtime. I also run jobs that can take a couple of minutes, so I'm toggling between my work screen and imamother, etc....to keep me in my chair.

I have a lot of free time at work unfortunately it has been very slow lately so I could be on for a long time or several times during the day It keeps me from falling asleep at my desk.
I just hope my boss doesn't walk in on me.

The source for what I was talking about upthread about people who make jokes is Taanit 22a (near the bottom of the daf)
http://www.on1foot.org/text/ba.....it-22
And the term used for "jesters" is badchanim. I was just using my knowledge of the modern Hebrew word for clowns rather than looking it up. Hence my mistake. But anyway you get the idea.

I've always heard laizton is a clown - I think there is even a kiddie tape that indicates same
some use the term for lazy people ... oh well

I just love the way how this thread is three threads in one.
One thread everyone answering the question honestly
One thread is a hakarat hatov of the good that people do by coming on here
One thread is a bunch of jokes
Fabulous!

And of course, the men have plenty of time to post, since their unappreciated wives all work while they relax on imamother.

I always have 2 tabs open on my phone. A news website and the immediate reactions page. It's my go-to place when I need a quick pick-me-up
