adhd coaching can help both parents understand and learn how to motivate the child and for older children getting them coaching themselves.

there is a lot to it

I agree with the posters who said that meds should not be turning him into a zombie. Either he needs different meds or something else is wrong.

Also OP, think about why you're resistant to meds, and try to take your own issues out of the picture, unless you have legitimate evidence-based concerns.

People who have asthma are on meds. People who have diabetes are on meds. And so on. It doesn't make sense to be resistant to meds when they can make a huge difference to him both now and in the future.
