Yedida
Libi
Nediva - already been suggested, is the closest to 'kind' but probably rather old fashioned.

Is Chasida really a name in some circles? It's one of the non-kosher birds in Sefer Vayikra.

I like Naama or Marion's other suggestions.

If it's the bird that's selfish, I wouldn't name a child that.

I just looked it up- it's in Parshat Shmini- Rashi says "ולמה נקרא שמה חסידה? שעושה חסידות עם חברותיה במזונות"

So I guess it's no stranger a name than Devorah- a non-kosher animal with otherwise positive associations.

The connotation of this רש"י is that the חסידה is selfish- it does חסד with its relatives, but no one else. The direct English translation may not sound that way, but that's the interpretation I always learned.

Depending on what circle you're in, your child may also not be happy with an atypical name.

Mazel tov!

Chasia? I think it means more "mercy of G-d" but that is related to kindness and it starts with two of the three shorashim of chesed.

chasiah ~ sheltered or protected by god ... sounds better than mercy [unless you're john stamos]
