My daughter started kindergarten. She needs a backpack to bring home important notices and/or arts n crafts. I ordered two from amazon but they're going right back; they're much too big, although it's supposed to be 14" backpacks (which I thought is proper size).
Can anyone attach a link to an appropriate backpack for a kindergarten girl? No characters or animals, please. Something cute, girly, and practical.

I actually ordered today 12.5 inch backpack for my kindergartener from Target. Her school also wanted a larger knapsack but, like you said, 14 inches is too big. 11.5-12.5 is big enough for papers or larger projects.

I got mine the size small from Lands End and it seems perfect - it's not too enormous now but roomy enough that it should take her at least through 2nd grade. I wish I'd done that for first DD as well, I went cheap with her but it was too big and I doubt the quality will last through this year though I'm surprised it's still holding up so far.
