but if we just spewed forth children from our womb without any guidance, they would be in smelly nappies, unable to walk or talk or learn right from wrong
as with everything there is a balance ... either side of which is extreme
also people differ as in some children [& grown-ups] need space to calm down - others need coddling to help them transition back into calmness
